The brief
Beautano is a sunbed and beauty salon in Glasgow. Their old site was built on Wix. It looked acceptable, but it loaded slowly, did not show up well for the searches that actually bring customers in, and could not capture sign-ups in a way that connected to how the salon runs. They wanted a site that was fast, easy to find locally, and that fed straight into their day-to-day booking.
The challenge
A salon lives or dies on local search. Someone in Glasgow types what they want and goes to whoever shows up first and looks trustworthy. The Wix site was slow and its structure gave search engines very little to work with, so it was losing that race. On top of that, the booking and loyalty side was disconnected from the website, so the site was doing no real work for the business.
What we built
We rebuilt the whole thing bespoke on Astro. The new site loads in around 0.7 seconds and scores 100/100 on PageSpeed. We built a proper local-SEO structure around it, with area pages and clean, descriptive markup so Glasgow searches have something solid to match against. We also added a sign-up and loyalty capture flow that feeds the salon's booking software, so the website now actually drives bookings rather than just sitting there.
